Day 12: Faycelles to Brengues 22 Kilometers

Awoke in our sheep silo and enjoyed a petite dejenuer delivered by our gracious host.  Said goodbye to our little oasis and hit the trail.  Today holds much excitement as we leave the GR 65 and take the valley route that follows the Cele River.  Coffee stop was great and then we hit the valley.  Great walk with new views led us to a river cathedral where we had a picnic.  After, we crossed a bridge and the sign for our town pointed left but the trail said right.  The trail took us straight up and we wondered whether it would be worth it.  It was.  The trail took us on the ledge of a rock face overlooking the river valley.  Breathtaking.  And then, we look up on the cliff and there's a fortress built into the rocks.  Crazy!  We later found our place which was decent but had a very good dinner of root vegetable soup with chicken and rice! Hadn't had chicken since home.

Had one hiccup today as we left our electrical adapter at Faycelles.  The hostess there said she would post it ahead if she had a place to send it so we booked a place two days away in Cahor where she could send it.

Gite La Brenguoise. A work in progress, very clean. Two bunk beds in each room with a bathroom between the two. Host cooked a fine dinner.
